Sixteen Time NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

The Ken & Jean Dance Studio is not a competition-based studio but consistently earns top awards on the national stage. At the 2024 Dance Educators Of America National Championship, Ken & Jean Dance Studio took the top award, winning the title of National Champions and winners of the National Presidents Award. This is the studio’s Sixteenth National Title. The studio has also been awarded the coveted Champion of Champions/National Presidents Award Winner five times and has received the National Overall Choreography Award of the entire competition eight times.

In July of 2024, 46 of our advanced dancers attended the Dance Educators of America National Performing Arts Scholarship Competition and Convention in Orlando, Florida.

Studios all over the country traveled to Florida to earn the title of National Champions. Over the course of the week, our students rehearsed, competed, and took five hours of master classes daily.

The week began with the finals, in which “Memphis Lives In Me”, “Believe”, “Crime Of The Century”, “Razzle Dazzle”, and “Carrying The Banner” all received a Platinum Award. The judges also awarded the studio a special award titled “No Weak Links” after noticing the excellence onstage by all dancers. “Crime Of The Century”, “Razzle Dazzle”, and “Carrying The Banner”were all awarded 1st Place in their division making them National Champions. “Memphis Lives In Me” and “Believe” received 2nd Place in their division, only being beat out by our own studio. After this round, “Crime Of The Century”, “Razzle Dazzle”, and “Carrying The Banner” all were selected to partake in the National President’s Award competition where the top three routines of the entire competition compete. “Crime Of The Century” was awarded the National President’s Award AND Overall Choreography Award for the entire competition.

The studio has been awarded Overall Grand National Champion sixteen times, has earned the title of Overall Grand National Champion of Champions/Presidents Award Winner five times, and has received the National Overall Choreography Award eight times.
