Dress Rehearsal - Wednesday, June 10 @ 4:30pm

East Allegheny Jr/Sr High School

Dress Rehearsal for all dancers will take place on Wednesday, June 10, at East Allegheny Jr./Sr. High School. Rehearsal will begin promptly at 4:30pm, and we are unable to wait for late arrivals. Please review the updated running order of the show below.

Dancers are free to leave once all of their dances have completed their stage time. Dress Rehearsal is an essential part of the Showcase experience and allows dancers to become comfortable on stage while ensuring that every detail is performance-ready — including lighting, sound, costumes, makeup, hair, shoes, tights, accessories, smiles, and of course, the choreography itself!

While in the theater, we ask that all dancers and families conduct themselves professionally and respectfully as representatives of the studio and the longstanding standard established by Ken and Jean many years ago. Please allow for flexibility throughout the evening. We will do our very best to keep rehearsal moving efficiently while also making sure each dancer feels confident and prepared on stage.

Dress Rehearsal is intended for students and parents only. Please do not bring additional family members unless absolutely necessary. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain focus on the dancers and this important final preparation before Showcase.

Please review and follow the guidelines below:

  • No additional jewelry may be worn other than approved performance/stage jewelry.

  • All unnatural nails must be removed, and nail polish is not permitted.

  • Please avoid tan lines and sunburn prior to Showcase.

  • Follow all costuming details listed on the website: http://kenandjeandance.com/costumes

  • Dance shoes and tights with holes are not permitted on stage. Replacement items may be purchased at the studio prior to Dress Rehearsal.

  • Boys’ hair should be neat, tidy, and styled appropriately away from the face.

Arrival Information:
No one is permitted inside the school before 2:30pm on Wednesday. This is part of the studio’s agreement with the facility, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Please note that doors will open 90 minutes prior to each Showcase performance on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

East Allegheny School District has informed us that construction is currently taking place near the stadium, and large equipment will be occupying a significant number of parking spaces. To help alleviate congestion, we kindly ask families to minimize the number of vehicles whenever possible and consider dropping off their party before parking. For the Showcase performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, a shuttle bus will run from Logan Elementary to the Main Entrance for your convenience. Please note that shuttle service will not be available during Dress Rehearsal.

Additionally, parking on the grass is strictly prohibited. Last year, performances were interrupted numerous times due to announcements requesting that vehicles be moved. Your cooperation helps us provide a smooth and uninterrupted Showcase experience for all families and performers.

Additional Rules:

  • Photos and videos of dancers on stage are permitted during Dress Rehearsal ONLY. Recording is not permitted during Showcase performances, as it can be distracting to both audience members and performers.

  • No food or drinks are permitted inside the auditorium.

  • There is to be absolutely no eating or drinking while in costume.

  • Dressing room assignments will be posted on the doors. Look for Cafeteria and Choral Rooms.

  • Everyone is responsible for cleaning up all trash, makeup, bobby pins, and personal items before leaving the dressing rooms.

  • Credit and debit cards will not be accepted at Dress Rehearsal. There may be an ATM at EA, but availability is not guaranteed.

Noteworthy Information:

  • The concession stand will be open during Dress Rehearsal and will be serving hot food. All proceeds benefit the Advanced Competition Team’s 2026 Nationals trip. Concessions are cash only.

  • Tights, Showcase t-shirts, and apparel will be available for purchase at the box office. Payments may be made by cash, check, or Venmo.

  • Showcase tickets may be purchased online through June 9. Additional tickets will be available at the box office on the day of each performance.

  • Reflections Photography will be onsite for professional portraits beginning at 2:30pm.

  • Dancers are not permitted to watch Showcase performances in the auditorium on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday unless they have a ticket. Dress Rehearsal is a wonderful opportunity for dancers to enjoy portions of the show.

Dress Rehearsal is also the perfect day to wear your 2026 Showcase t-shirt! We encourage families to begin organizing costumes and accessories ahead of time to help alleviate stress throughout Showcase week.

It is completely natural for dancers to feel nervous before a big performance. Nerves simply mean they care deeply and want to do their best. Please continue to support and encourage them with kindness, reassurance, and positivity. We know our dancers are prepared and ready to shine on stage, and we are confident this will be an incredible Showcase.

As you sit in the auditorium, take a moment to appreciate your child and the opportunity they have to express themselves through dance. While the commitment can sometimes feel overwhelming, the lessons learned extend far beyond the stage. Through dance, children develop confidence, discipline, focus, resilience, and lifelong skills that will benefit them in every area of life. One day, you will look back on these moments and wish you could relive them again — we can promise you that.

DRESS REHEARSAL ORDER BELOW

The order is mimicking the show order (to some extent). This is to ensure the stage crew, lighting designers, sound technicians, and dancers are comfortable with the show before having an audience. DANCERS MAY LEAVE ONCE THEY’VE FINISHED THEIR DANCES OR CHOOSE TO STAY AND WATCH!
